I have a reserve about poetry events. Even at its most oblique, poetry must be one of the most personal forms of expression we have. And since there is a current trend of poetry being confessional, these events have, even with the bravado of slam, become a place where people expose themselves to an audience. In essence, we go to see people’s truths- putting them in a vulnerable position. Still, I can handle the truth, but what if I don’t like their poems?

So, Here We Are…
Welcome one and all, readers and writers to The Louche. Here I will try to compile some of the best creative works from university students around the country. Initially this will mean very specifically Westminster University, however, hopefully and with a great deal of time I imagine, I hope to get more submissions from other universities. If all goes well perhaps people will look here for new talent. Talent I’m sure is screaming to be heard. Please feel free to send any kind of writing to me at sekilynch.me.com. If it’s good it’s in. The one stipulation for the moment is that you are a university student, anywhere! See ‘About’ for more details.
